Well hello there! It’s been a moment since writing a blog, so forgive me if I’m a little rusty!
I have been absolutely obsessed with Hades, and specifically the character Chaos. A canonically nonbinary character who is the embodiment of the weird nature of the universe? Of course I am going to love them.

So with that, and it being a while since getting fully indepth with a project, I thought I would write up my research on Chaos, and work out how I’m going to re-create them, with hopefully materials that I already own. Being a costume maker, I have an unhealthy horde of fabric that can be put to good use here!

First thing is to figure out what it is they are wearing. Its a simple(ish) answer: A two piece suit. However as you can see, the collar is in a beautiful gold tone with some details. The suit also appears to be connected with a rope and clasps, rather than traditional buttons. The trousers look pleated and lose fit to me, similar to older style suits, rather than the skinny leg types we see more often today. I also think the suit looks like it may have twin tails, which I looooove. I think twin tail coats are so flattering and pretty, and rarely seen now.
Their shirt appears to be a space void, which werk. I can keep that a simple sleeveless turtleneck, and recreate the stars with rhinestones.

Here is a couple examples of the basic shapes I’m aiming for. The trousers are from “Streets Of Seoul” and the jacket is by Sir Tom Baker – A London tailor who creates beautiful works.
So there you have it, my very first baby steps towards this project. I really want to create a properly tailored suit here, which I have only done once with university. I’m sure there will be a lot of trial and error with this, but I’ll document it along the way so if you decide to do a project like this, you avoid my pit falls!
Keep creating,
Quill.
