Lady Maria

I loved recreating Lady Maria for the very talented and beautiful Velvet Caveat. It needed to look like her full outfit, but be able to be swiftly taken off for a quick change.

I created this by combining her jacket and waistcoat into one, but with the jacket seam, I left it purposefully raised, and then hand sewn ribbon over the top of to strength the illusion of separate pieces.

I also done extensive breakdown on this costume, as the character hunts down men and monsters a like, in a dystopian world. Breakdown is always one of my favourite things to do, and so I added fake mud and blood, bleach, sun staining and general wear and tear from being in battle.
