Drafting the trouser pattern

Here is a slideshow of me creating the pattern for our trousers in the tailoring unit. I followed the pattern in Aldrich WInfred’s menswear book. It is easy enough to follow, but I have included a couple of my mistakes in the photographs and explained what I would do for next time I needed to draft this pattern!

Also the seams on our trousers are different than Winfreds – While her pattern has a 1cm seam allowance all around, and no hem, I need to have bigger seam allowances to allow space for tailoring to thee performer or actor. Espeically prominent is the centre back, where we have a 4cm seam allowance at the waistband, which gives me wiggle room when fitting to a person.
